ABOUT CARLYN
Carlyn is a writer and director from a very small town in Texas who (much to her family’s dismay) now calls Los Angeles her home. She’s dedicated the past few years of her career to honing her skills as a comedy director-
Namely doing so by directing dozens of sketches for College Humor, Funny or Die, and making dumb shorts with her UCB friends. One of which- Nice Ass (about, you guessed it- a giant butt), premiered at SXSW in 2018.

Most recently her horror/comedy short Waffle (2020), also a SXSW premiere-
has gone on to play 40+ festivals, win multiple best director awards, and garner at least two public comparisons to Jordan Peele (which she’s too embarrassed to cite here).
As a commercial director, Carlyn has crafted spots for companies like JIF (one of Source Creative’s top campaigns of 2020), Hasbro, Lexus, LG, Helzberg Diamonds, and Annovera, whose campaign starring Whitney Cummings won a Cannes Lion earlier this year.
Carlyn is currently adapting a queer YA book into a feature for Netflix and her sophomore feature as writer/director is being packaged by CAA.
