ABOUT CARLYN
Carlyn is a writer and director from a very small town in Texas who (much to her family’s dismay) now calls Los Angeles her home. She’s dedicated the past few years of her career to honing her skills as a comedy director-
She cut her teeth directing dozens of sketches and branded pieces for Funny or Die and CollegeHumor. Carlyn’s horror/comedy short WAFFLE premiered in competition at SXSW, picking up multiple best director awards in the process. Ringer called WAFFLE one of the best films of the fest, saying, "Hudson has a particular sense of humor, both uplifting and disquietingly absurd." Another reviewer compared her to Jordan Peele but she's too embarrassed to cite that one here.

Other recent shorts include the dark comedy/sci-fi THE WORKPLACE, distributed by Dust and Gunpowder and Sky, and NICE ASS, another SXSW premiere about a giant butt. She’s also a proud member of the Writers Guild of America, mainly for features that you’ve never heard of (yet).
As a commercial director, Carlyn specializes in cinematic dialogue comedy and has worked with brands such as JIF (one of Source Creative’s top campaigns of the year), Google, Jack in the Box, Nike, Sparkling Ice, Tinder, Cracker Barrel, Dermalogica, and Annovera, whose campaign starring Whitney Cummings won a Cannes Silver Lion. She’s also won a Shark Award in celebrity direction for her PGA Tour Superstore spot featuring Carl Weathers.
